{"id":51666,"title":"Philosophy leads to Christ?","description":"Exploring how every question and pursuit of wisdom ultimately points us back to God, the true source of all truth and meaning.","content":"<p><strong><span style=\"font-family:UICTFontTextStyleEmphasizedBody;\">Philosophy, Questions, and the Ultimate Answer<\/span><\/strong><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family:UICTFontTextStyleBody;\">Philosophy comes from two Greek words in Phile\u00een, meaning love and Soph\u00eda, meaning wisdom so the English translation is \u2018love of wisdom.\u2019 I\u2019m not claiming to have all the answers, but I love asking questions that matter. If that makes me a philosopher, then I\u2019ll gladly wear that name.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family:UICTFontTextStyleBody;\">I\u2019ve always been a thinker of what\u2019s actually happening especially around technology and creations. If I saw a lamppost I\u2019d consider, \u2018where is it drawing its power and how do you change the light bulb?\u2019<\/span><\/p><p><\/p><p><strong><span style=\"font-family:UICTFontTextStyleEmphasizedBody;\">Section 1: Why Questions Matter<\/span><\/strong><\/p><p>\u2022<span> <\/span>Asking questions is natural and necessary for growth.<\/p><p>\u2022<span> <\/span>True wisdom begins with humility: acknowledging we don\u2019t have all the answers.<\/p><p>\u2022<span> <\/span>Philosophers like Socrates, Augustine, and C.S. Lewis remind us that questioning is a path to deeper truth.<\/p><p><\/p><p><strong><span style=\"font-family:UICTFontTextStyleEmphasizedBody;\">Section 1.5: Question the Questions<\/span><\/strong><\/p><p>\u2022<span> <\/span>Before seeking answers, examine the questions themselves:<\/p><p>\u2022<span> <\/span>Where does this question come from? Fear, curiosity, longing, or confusion?<\/p><p>\u2022<span> <\/span>Why does it matter? What need or desire does it reveal in my heart?<\/p><p>\u2022<span> <\/span>What assumptions am I bringing? Are they helping or clouding the truth?<\/p><p><span style=\"font-family:UICTFontTextStyleBody;\">Not all questions are equally valuable. Some reveal wisdom; others reveal personal anxieties. Learning to discern the source and purpose of a question is as important as seeking the answer.<\/span><\/p><p><\/p><p><strong><span style=\"font-family:UICTFontTextStyleEmphasizedBody;\">Section 2: Lessons from the First Philosopher \u2014 Solomon<\/span><\/strong><\/p><p>\u2022<span> <\/span>Solomon, one of the earliest recorded philosophers, wrote <em><span style=\"font-family:UICTFontTextStyleItalicBody;\">Ecclesiastes<\/span><\/em><span style=\"font-family:UICTFontTextStyleBody;\">.<\/span><\/p><p>\u2022<span> <\/span>He asked big questions about life, meaning, and fulfillment:<\/p><p>\u2022<span> <\/span>Life is fleeting and sometimes seems meaningless (<em><span style=\"font-family:UICTFontTextStyleItalicBody;\">\u201cVanity of vanities; all is vanity\u201d \u2014 Ecclesiastes 1:2<\/span><\/em><span style=\"font-family:UICTFontTextStyleBody;\">).<\/span><\/p><p>\u2022<span> <\/span>Human wisdom, pleasure, and wealth alone cannot satisfy (<em><span style=\"font-family:UICTFontTextStyleItalicBody;\">Ecclesiastes 2:1-11<\/span><\/em><span style=\"font-family:UICTFontTextStyleBody;\">).<\/span><\/p><p>\u2022<span> <\/span>True fulfillment comes from reverence for God (<em><span style=\"font-family:UICTFontTextStyleItalicBody;\">Ecclesiastes 12:13-14<\/span><\/em><span style=\"font-family:UICTFontTextStyleBody;\">).<\/span><\/p><p>\u2022<span> <\/span>Solomon\u2019s example shows that even the wisest humans need God to find ultimate truth.<\/p><p><\/p><p><strong><span style=\"font-family:UICTFontTextStyleEmphasizedBody;\">Section 3: Jesus as the Fulfillment of Philosophy<\/span><\/strong><\/p><p>\u2022<span> <\/span>All truthful answers ultimately point to God because He IS truth.<\/p><p>\u2022<span> <\/span>John 14:6 \u2014 <em><span style=\"font-family:UICTFontTextStyleItalicBody;\">\u201cI am the way, the truth, and the life.\u201d<\/span><\/em><\/p><p>\u2022<span> <\/span>Philosophy leads us to recognize objective truth; Christ is the personal embodiment of that truth.<\/p><p>in my previous blog post I spoke about happiness and how God never called us to be happy. Instead he called us to joy and peace and these can only come from him.<\/p><p><\/p><p><strong><span style=\"font-family:UICTFontTextStyleEmphasizedBody;\">Section 4: Practical Reflection<\/span><\/strong><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family:UICTFontTextStyleBody;\">So I urge you to<\/span><\/p><p>1.<span> <\/span>Ask questions boldly.<\/p><p>2.<span> <\/span>Examine the source and purpose of their questions.<\/p><p>3.<span> <\/span>Explore answers in light of Christ.<\/p><p><span style=\"font-family:UICTFontTextStyleBody;\">What question have you been chasing? What does it reveal about your heart? What if Jesus is the ultimate answer you\u2019ve been searching for?<\/span><\/p><p><\/p><p><strong><span style=\"font-family:UICTFontTextStyleEmphasizedBody;\">Closing Thought<\/span><\/strong><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family:UICTFontTextStyleBody;\">I may be a philosopher in love with questions, but I\u2019ve found that the deepest wisdom isn\u2019t just in the questions, it\u2019s in the One who is the Answer.<\/span><\/p><p><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family:UICTFontTextStyleBody;\">1 Peter 3:15 GNT - But have reverence for Christ in your hearts, and honor him as Lord. Be ready at all times to answer anyone who asks you to explain the hope you have in you,<\/span><\/p><p><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family:UICTFontTextStyleBody;\">Closing Prayer:<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family:UICTFontTextStyleBody;\">Dear Lord, Thank you for giving us minds that wander. Teach us to ask questions with humility and to seek wisdom. Guard us from confusion and pride. Lead us into rest in your truth.
